67mpg
Made it down to Wildwood, I managed to achieve 67mpg during to 2 hour trip. Before the addition of the solar panel I was getting 62mpg.very excited about this, even proves my theory a little bit more in my opinion.
My speed ranged from 45 to 55, I always do exactly the speed limit. One highway had a speed limit of 65, since no one was really on the road I set the cruise control at 55. Higher speeds use more gas, check your RPM's at 55 and then at 75, you will see a huge increase in the amount of gas the engine uses to maintain that speed. Also, I don't jump on the gas to get to that speed, I very very slowly accelerate thats a huge help but people behind you hate that!
That fits with my observations then. Speed limit here in the NL is 120KM/h (75mph). I usually drive around 60mph (100km/h) but I'll gladly stay behind a truck (they are limited to 90Km/h / 55mph) when I am not in a hurry. Works miracles for fuel consumption.
That's really great. What was your average speed? I have seen dramatic fuel consumption differences between 60 and 80 mph.
